Built-in GPS and full DSC capabilities give the ability to share position information in the event of an emergency. The built in Bluetooth feature gives the additional advantage of handsfree VHF operation, compatible with the SSM-BT-20 Bluetooth headset and additional aftermarket headset types.

The HX891BT/E is available in two different color options, Black or Navy Blue. Prominent features include a water activated Strobe light as well as two scrambler systems built in to ensure secure communications out on the water. Other notable features include: FM band radio, Switchable daytime or nighttime mode, waypoint and route navigation, Group monitor function utilizing DSC Group position call.

Keeping the marine environment in mind the HX891BT/E has been designed with an ergonomic case design and has been rigorously tested to conform to the Military Standard (MIL-STD-810F).
